Gate for double banister steps

Now that LO is crawling and cruise all of the place, and his favorite place to be is in our hallway. I had to go gate shopping.

You think this would have been a easy task but it wasn't.

Since I have my step has a double banister and a hand rail on one it made it hard to find a gate that work with it

This is what my steps look like

Still a regular would work cause you need to have at least one wall to install it, I had to do some reach.

The first gate I brought didn't work at all cause It tight pressure to lock since there now real way to get it to have tight pressure I sent it back.

The second gate was white and didn't it didn't look good with out step and you have to add a  2 x 4 and a bunch of strap to make it work and my hubby thought it would look tacky so I brought it back

Then I order a dog gate from amazon that worked perfect  it's a north state super gate deluxe decor gate ... It stands alone, but used straps to make it super secure .. And it looks good too!!!

Here's pics

This is how we strapped it

Hope this helps anyone that's having the same issue

My Paci, Sippy, Sophie, Snack cup holder

My sewing board challenge for this week is "easy peasy little projects"
I actually have a few small easy sewing project on my list but I really needed the holders now that LO is 7 months and tend to throw everything everywhere especially when we are at the supermarket and mall.

They were super fast and easy .. I made all of them in about a hour while LO napped

This is what I did

Cut fabric .. Well all the fabric are scraps so I don't really have any real measurements but from what I saw on Pinterest the normal measurement is 10.5in x 4in .. I made my pacifer holder as close a possible to that

Then I iron the 2 ends

Then fold in half
Then fold the end to the middle

Turn in half again

Then I sewed the 2 sides

Add clip to one end and sew down go back and fourth about three times
Add the elastic on the other end
All done

My sippy cup holder is a little different

My sippy cup holder 22in by 3in again scraps

Iron top and bottom ends

Then iron in half, right sides together

Sew close

Turn right side out, iron with seam in the back

Add 1 1/4 elastic to one end of the fabric and a clip to the other end

Sew in place

All done!!

Here's all the holders I made .. I really love them .. My Sophie and snack cup holder is exactly like the pacifer holder just longer.

Upcycle sewing challenge .. Baby shoes

My sewing board had a upcycle sewing challenge and I decided to make baby shoes out of a pair of old pants and a leather belt

I used this tutorial to do it

Here's my pics

All done .. They came out better then I thought it would ... I'm still a newbie to sewing but I learn something new everytime I sew.
